REIKI
stress reduction and relaxation
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is based on the Asian concept of life energy. The life force energy flows through us and keep us alive.
Our mind is connected with our energy field. When the mind is positive our energy level goes up and when the mind is negative the energy level goes down. Our thoughts and feelings affect our body. For example, anger creates bad energy around the liver, fear creates bad energy around the kidneys and grief around the lungs. If the negative feelings continue and we do not let them go we can develop dysfunction and eventually an illness.
“As in any healing, it is very important to understand that the first step is your desire to be healed. ”
How does Reiki work and what it feels like?
People have different experiences and Reiki treatments can vary from session to session too. Most clients feel : stress and pain relief, deep relaxation and sometimes sleep, warmth or heat, tingling.
The Reiki energy flows from my hands into the clients energy field and around the organs and tissues, helping the energy to be stronger and to let go the blockages, remove negative programming and revitalising the body, mind and spirit.
Reiki may be used on the whole body or can be localised to a specific area of the body.
The client remains fully clothed and will be asked to lay down on the table. My hands will remain in each position for up to three minutes before moving to the next position.
What can Reiki do for you?
As Reiki is very gentle it is suitable for everybody. Reiki can only create good but it shouldn’t be regarded as a cure. One of the main benefits of Reiki is that it helps to rebalance the whole person in mind, body and spirit, working to make us whole and complete. It helps the body to start to heal itself.
As in any healing, it is very important to understand that the first step is your desire to be healed. Reiki can help you clear those physical and emotional issues, but only if you are willing to be open-minded and accept help.
